20th Century Fox Television’s newly minted president of creative affairs Jonnie Davis has promoted studio vet Jeffrey Glaser to executive vp current programming. The appointment comes just one week after the studio put Davis in the newly created role.
Glaser, who has served as senior vp current programming since 2003, will now report directly to Davis.
“Jeffrey has led our current programming team for many years and has done a spectacular job keeping our shows creatively strong and vibrant, helping to earn them well-deserved renewals year after year,” said Davis. “He’s as hard working an executive as there is in this business, and our creators rely on him enormously, as do we. We couldn’t be happier to reward him with this promotion, which recognizes both his significant contribution and the importance of his area to the overall success of the studio.”
20th TV chairs Dana Walden and Gary Newman put Glaser at the helm of current programming when they created the department in 2003. His tenure there has had him oversee franchise hits from The X Files and Buffy the Vampire Slayer to Modern Family, Glee and New Girl.
In addition to Glaser’s promotion and Davis’ new role, 20th TV also promoted drama exec Michael Thorn to executive vp development. He now oversees both comedy and drama for the studio.
Before 20th TV, Glaser was director of development at Alliance Productions.
