SAN FRANCISCO-

There is a lot of hype surrounding the 49ers’ next season. Not only are they widely considered as Super Bowl contenders but after 42 seasons at Candlestick Park, the 49ers will be starting their first season at Levi’s® Stadium in Santa Clara.

The 49ers have announced their preseason schedule, featuring four opponents from the AFC, throughout the month of August.

The first week’s match-up will feature the Baltimore Ravens. The two teams met in the Super Bowl just two seasons ago.

The second week will mark Levi’s® Stadium first ever NFL game, and it will be against last year’s AFC Champions, the Denver Broncos. Peyton Manning and the Broncos faced the 49ers at Candlestick in preseason last year, where their stingy defense led them to a 10-6 victory.

Week 3’s game against the San Diego Chargers will be broadcasted nationally on FOX. It is the 28th consecutive year in which the two teams have met in the preseason. The 49ers lead the all-time preseason series 22-20, and last year defeated the Chargers 41-6 at Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego.

The 49ers will then face the Texans in Houston for their final preseason matchup. The two teams have only faced each other in preseason twice before, and Houston has won both games.

Dates and times have only been set for all nationally televised NFL preseason games.
