The New York Post reported Tuesday that Liberty Media CEO Greg Maffei was the highest-paid CEO at a publicly traded U.S. company in 2009 with total compensation of $188 million, although most of that came in the form of stock awards with an estimated value of $179 million.
Following second-ranked Oracle CEO Larry Ellison and third-placed Ray Irani of Occidental Petroleum, Sirius XM Radio CEO Mel Karmazin with $45.6 million and CBS Corp. president and CEO Leslie Moonves with $44.1 million add more media power to the top five in the Glass Lewis report, the Post said.
