Protestors demonstrating against what they say are Walmart’s unfair labor practices.

SACRAMENTO—

Police in Sacramento have made nine arrests so far in Thursday’s protest against Walmart.

The protestors were arrested just before 5:30 p.m. after police declared that the demonstration was an unlawful assembly. Police say that the protestors were blocking the sidewalk.

The downtown protest was one of many across the nation Thursday, as workers demand full-time hours and at least a $25,000 per year salary. Former workers also claimed that they were fired unfairly.

Protestors converged at the Park Tower near 9th and J Streets because they believe that a Walmart board member has an office there.
