Disclaimer: This build of CM11 is highly experimental and should be flashed AT YOUR OWN RISK. I am not responsible for any damage to your device.

The build I had running of CM11 just finished, and I have to leave right now, so I have not had time to test it yet. If you choose to flash it, please provide me with the correct log files if it does not boot. Incase you do not know how to pull the correct files, follow sections 2 and 3 of THIS guide.

I am downloading - will flash and report back.

Do we keep the Google experience launcher?

So glad to have a CM ROM for my N5. I've missed so many features.
Even when Trebuchet is in CM I'll probably still keep GE Launcher. I just love the GNow features too much. Pity it can't be incorporated into Trebuchet/Nova (as its a composite of Google Search, launcher and something else)

Edit: What GApps do we use? Or are they built in?

Flashing in ten minutes. I was going to build it this afternoon, but might not be necessary then. :highfive:

Thanks. First build might not boot, so be sure to give me the files I asked for in the OP.

Yeah it didn't boot. Unfortunately I can't pull any files as I'm currently in university and don't have my laptop with me so I'll reflash it when I'm home and poll the log files for you then.

I have an idea of what the issue might be, and I'll be able to confirm when I get some logs.

This might be the issue, but not sure. If you can edit the build.prop file after or before you flash it, add in this line:
dalvik.vm.dexopt-data-only=1

I could, by extracting the archive and re-zipping it... That'd work, but I'm on 30% battery so wont be flashing again till I get home and charge

because i have been following your thread
    from the very begining
i have defended you when people pissed about it not working
even though you clearly stated highly experimental (some people complain for no reason)
i have read every page and every comment
you might not be the first to have it working
but you were the first to have a cm thread
if keep building, im staying here

    Alright, I'll continue.

It would be nice for a mod to clean everything from this thread that isn't on topic.

Anyways, I'm in the process of setting up a new build environment on my laptop as I believe it would build a lot faster than the buildbot I'm using, which has a lot more users on it than it did a while ago. This means I'll be able to build faster and fix issues faster.

Sigh... I don't know why all the secrecy is going on.

Android is Open Source. Open Source encourages (and requires) sharing ideas. I know there aren't many 8974's out there so some people are having trouble getting this going.

In the interest of sharing, here's my GitHub:

    https://github.com/romracer/android_device_lge_hammerhead/tree/cm-11.0

You will want to use the hammerhead branch of AOSP (Google's) kernel/msm. Its far from perfect, but it boots and the radio works fine (AT&T users will need to pick the pta APN and reboot).

    Enjoy. And share!

PS: Precompiled ROM here (do NOT report issues to me about it, I know): Link
