Love is in the air! If you want to get your kids into the spirit of Valentine’s Day, here are some activities going on in the next week that are lots of fun for the whole family!

I Heart Sacramento Zoo

When: Sunday, February 9th; 9am-4pm
Where: Sacramento Zoo
What: Join the beloved animals for a fun day organized by the Sacramento Zoo teen volunteers. The event features valentine-themed animal enrichments, informative talks and activity tables.

Valentine’s Day Arts & Crafts

When: Saturday, February 7th – Friday, February 14th
Where: Sacramento Libraries
What: Many local libraries have planned fun Valentine’s activities for the kids. Design valentine cards, decorate cookies, make Hershey Kisses flowers, and more.

Wee Wednesday: Love Fest

When: Wednesday, February 12th; 11am-12pm
Where: Crocker Art Museum
What: Children ages five and younger and their grownups are invited to celebrate Valentine’s Day at this special Wee Wednesday. Enjoy a special sing-along with Kristin Wright, make Valentine’s crafts, and leave valentine hearts for your favorite artworks in the Crocker galleries.
Cost: Free for members and included with general admission for nonmembers.

Kids Valentines Cookies Decorating Class

When: Thursday, February 13th; 4-5pm
Where: Megan’s Bake Shop
What: Learn how to decorate Valentine’s Day cookies. all supplies included.

Princess Storytime with Disney on Ice

When: Friday, February 14th; 3:30-4:30pm
Where: North Natomas Library
What: Celebrating Disney on Ice’s Rockin’ Ever After, everyone is welcome to a princess storytime featuring two special guests from the show! Come hear a story read by one of the Disney on Ice skaters, and stay for a meet and greet with a Disney character afterward!

Valentine’s Parents Night Out

When: Friday, February 14th; 6-9pm
Where: Bounce U – Rancho Cordova
What: Drop the kids off at BounceU, “the coolest babysitting service in town” and enjoy a romantic night out with your loved one! Your kids will be fully entertained at BounceU and supervised by our awesome Party Pros. This event is for ages 4 – 12.
Cost: $20 first child, $15 sibling

Valentine’s Day Drop Off Night

When: Friday, February 14th; 5-9pm
Where: Sacramento Children’s Museum
What: Need time to sneak away from the kids for a special Valentine’s Day date? Drop off your children at SCM for a night of Museum play and fun, along with snacks! Museum staff will host structured activities as well as free museum play.
Cost: $25 for Non-Member Children ($20 for additional siblings)
