Huffington Post: Jeopardy villain Arthur Chu dissects his 15 minutes of fame

Arthur Chu Jeopardy champ Arthur Chu can finally breath easy.

Requests for media interviews have died down.

He wrote that he sees himself as an old media staple, the third winningest champion of a game show that’s been on the air off and on for 42 years. He walked away with $297,200.

He also acknowledged he is a product of new media, a creation of the 140 word tweet and the hashtag #ChuChuTrain. It was new media that made him into both a hero and a villain.

He analyzes his 15 minutes with the same intensity he analyzed the unorthodox and sometimes maligned strategy that won him all that cash.

“Becoming a “game show villain” is the most ridiculous, unlikely method to go viral I can imagine,”wrote Chu. “Many people have argued that I somehow masterminded my viral success, that I used the same level of “strategy” in creating my “personal brand” that I did on the show — and all I can say is I’m smart but I’m nowhere near that smart. I was as surprised by this as everyone else.
