Fox led Wednesday among total viewers and the adults 18-49, offering up another two-hour auditions episode of American Idol. With a 3.8 rating among adults 18-49, the show was down just two-tenths of a point from last Wednesday’s outing. American Idol also averaged 12.4 million viewers.
NBC, the only other member of the Big Four to program all originals for the night, led with a new episode of Revolution (1.3 adults) — down two-tenths from last week. Law & Order SVU (1.9 adults) and freshman Chicago P.D. (1.7 adults) both improved by a tenth of a point. The latter grew for the second week in a row. NBC took a 1.6 rating with adults 18-49 and 6.5 million viewers over the night.

With encores of The Middle and Modern Family surrounding new outings of Suburgatory (1.5 adults) and Super Fun Night (1.3 adults) both comedies suffered. Suburgatory fell by three-tenths and Super Fun Night by four-tenths, each for a series low. Nashville (1.5 adults) improved by a tenth, helped give ABC an average 1.5 rating in the demo and 5.2 million viewers.
Ahead of repeat dramas, CBS aired annual special Super Bowl’s Greatest Commercials (1.9 adults) — generally even with last year’s showing. The network took a 1.4 rating with adults 18-49 and 7.5 million viewers on Wednesday.
The CW’s Arrow (1.0 adults) and The Tomorrow People (0.6 adults) both improved by a tenth of a point from last week’s showings, giving the network a 0.8 rating in the demo and 2.2 million viewers for the night.
