HBO‘s David Milch drama is adding a Homeland star to its ranks.
David Harewood has joined the cast of Milch’s The Money pilot, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
The Money revolves around James Castman (Brendan Gleeson), a powerful media mogul who wields power and influence to expand his empire and control his family. Nathan Lane plays Gordon, a reporter for VistaCorp’s New York Herald who is desperate to garner evidence for a hot story.
Harewood, who played Carrie (Claire Danes) and Saul’s (Mandy Patinkin) CIA boss on Showtime’s Homeland, will play Kurt Corbitt, a grandiose, boisterous, irascible ideologue and the CEO of the parent company to Castman’s holdings.
Milch penned the pilot and will executive produce alongside Art and John Linson and Frank Rich. Justin Chadwick will direct.
British actor Harewood, repped by APA and Authentic Talent and Literary Management, most recently reunited with Homeland‘s Howard Gordon, Alex Cary and Alex Gansa for their CBS pilot Anatomy of Violence. The drama did not move forward. Harewood’s credits also include features Blood Diamond, The Merchant of Venice and Strings.
