Warsaw-based boutique world sales company New Europe Film Sales has picked up Berlinale Forum title Thou Was Mild and Lovely.
The second film by actress-turned director Josephine Decker — the intimate and subtly erotic thriller that is set in the hills of Kentucky — stars leading independent filmmaker Joe Swanberg alongside actors Sophie Traub (Tenderness starring Russell Crowe) and Robert Longstreet (Take Shelter, This Is Martin Bonner).

Decker’s debut movie, Butter on the Latch, also has a Forum slot at this year’s Berlinale, which opens Feb. 6.
Berlinale and European Film Market screenings will be the film’s world festival and market premieres. New Europe Film Sales — the only international sales agent operating in Poland — handles all territories outside North America, where Paradigm is handling sales on Thou Wast Mild and Lovely.
