A version of this story first appeared in the Feb. 7 issue of The Hollywood Reporter magazine.
After a $100 million refurbishment headed by Madison Square Garden’s James Dolan and manager Irving Azoff, the Forum in Inglewood, Calif., is back in the concert biz. (It bowed Jan. 15 with a six-show stand by Azoff client The Eagles; the red-hot Imagine Dragons play Feb. 14.)

But the venue’s preshow dining options, save for concession items from the likes of La Brea Bakery and ice cream parlor Coolhaus, are rather limited for the Hollywood set. (“Would you rather have the choice of 20 restaurants directly across the street or eat at Sizzler?” Lee Zeidman, senior vp and GM at downtown L.A.’s Staples Center, recently said to THR.)
Now THR hears that Azoff, who owns local franchises of cult burger outfit Five Guys, tried to rectify the problem by attempting to buy said Sizzler, located across from the Forum, to turn it into a high-end restaurant. But the chain, whose menu offers items like all-you-can-eat pork riblets (“just $8.99!”), torpedoed his offer. Sizzler denies it was approached; Azoff did not return a request for comment.
