Cyanogenmod Disclaimer
CyanogenMod is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 4.4 (KitKat), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.

Code:
#include <std_disclaimer.h>
/*
* Your warranty is now void.
*
* We are not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
* thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
* do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
* before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
* you point the finger at us for messing up your device, we will laugh at you.
*/

CyanogenMod is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. You will need to provide your own Google Applications package (gapps). CyanogenMod does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

All the source code for CyanogenMod is available in the CyanogenMod Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to CyanogenMod, please visit out Gerrit Code Review. Your changelog is whatever was merged into gerrit.

  3. Wipe all
  4. Flash the zip M-ROM-DATE-mako.zip
  5. Flash GAPPS
  6. Reboot

I use it with full deodexed gapps:
DEODEXED GAPPS: http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=2397942 (Source: Thanks @Raum1807 )

ODEX GAPPS: http://d-h.st/8PP (Source: Thanks @Imperticus )

Modifications:
  • fix the whatsapp problem with ART ( thanks to @cernekee )
  • Nexus 5 dialer with Caller ID (not AOSP dialer)
  • Wi-fi fix for notifications when the screen is off
  • Fix emoji in Google Keyboard (thanks to @zequav)
  • SMS/MMS app with sliding menu (better than stock for me)
(i don't know who made this app, but THANKS! (if someone knows pm me), i found the apk in one thread)
  • I'm only at start with the rom... more modifications will come :)

In the feature i will try to add:
- active display from Chameleon OS
- and maybe i will try with semaphore kernel

I'm not a cyanogenmod developer. I'm a regular Nexus 4 user who want to taste the CM11. It's my first compiled ROM.

Thanks to:
BIG THANKS TO @Raum1807 for the guide: http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=2515305
Big thanks to Cyanogenmod
And big thanks for all the Nexus 4 community, I'm very proud to be part of it.

Sorry for my bad english.

Thanks. Do you have testing by yourself ?

Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app

Yes, i flash it with gapps and it's working. Wi-fi, bluetooth, sound, gps, etc etc it's working. I don't have time right now to test all the functionality because saturday morning i have an exam, but saturday i will delivery next build.

I think it's good enough to daily use :)

edit: looks like it is an AOSP bug

Update, new version, tested by myself. All is working but we still miss cyanogenmod features.
Check screenshots in second post.

Until now we have: expandables volumes, profiles, reboot on power menu, notification light change, performance in settings, superuser, cyanogenmod accounts, color calibration, vibrator intensity.

Check first post for download links and next build features. Thank you :)

Emoji doesn't seem to be working on the keyboard. I tried both de-odex and odex based gapps. Not sure if it is rom or app related.

M-ROM-20131114-mako.zip ( link in the first post )

New build is here and is based on this nightly compiled by @eris23. (because my compiled rom was rebooting, and now i build a clean one, it takes 10 hours to compile, and I don't have time to wait. It's the same thing.. next build will be compiled by me again).

    New features:
    - cyanogenmod base from 2013 11 14
    - lockscreen bar transparent
    - nexus 5 dialer, but we must have the old one too, because if we disable the old one, the calls in the new one are broken.
(until i find a fix, we have 2 phones apps. You can use anyone. Caller ID and Nearby Places are working in the new one)

flash the new gapps with new google now for new features: http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=2397942

I flash this new build over the last build and everything it's working perfect. You can flash it :)

    Thanks :)

P.S: next build i don't know when it will be, but probably will be with compass fixed because the factory image release.

I don't have much time to work for the rom and I don't make so much modifications to cyanogenmod. I'm a simple happy user of nexus 4, and make this builds for myself and share it with you.
When I will have more free time, i will try to add active display (it's my favorite feature that I miss in 4.4) .

    Hi,
Does the messaging app allows Return key on the keyboard? Thats the most important feature for me.
    Yes it allows

Could somebody tell me what is the new sms app called, I cant seem to find it...
One app you can use is: Hangouts
Or sliding messaging app named: "Messaging" (with stock icon)
