Sacramento to Discuss Smoking Ban on Restaurant, Bar PatiosSACRAMENTO-

The Sacramento City Council held a public discussion Tuesday to gauge opinions on the idea of banning smoking on restaurant and bar patios.

Some restaurants and bar owners say not allowing smoking on the patios would alienate a large part of their clientele.

Other came out in support of the ban, an idea Councilmember Steve Hansen is proposing. He says Sacramento would join dozens of other California cities with similar ordinances.

City leaders say the ban won’t be on the City Council’s agenda for several months.
