RANCHO CORDOVA-
With extra packages and staff, it was a very busy Monday morning for FedEx workers in Rancho Cordova.
“It’s our third busiest day of the year,” FedEx’s Nick Drikas said.
The company expects to ship out around 20 million packages Monday, its third busiest day of the year behind Cyber Monday and Green Monday. Cyber Monday refers to the Monday following Black Friday, Green Monday is typically the second Monday in December, as online shoppers rush to finish their gift lists before Christmas.
FedEx says it will guarantee delivery before Christmas if packages are shipped out Monday, a deadline Bob Salurno made sure he wasn’t going to miss as he dropped off a package at the FedEx Office location in Rancho Cordova.
“Next week there is no certainty, so must get it down today and get a head start,” said Salurno.
FedEx offers a few options to help protect presents from would-be grinches. Packages can be shipped to places of business rather than homes, or can be held at facilities for a person to go and pick up.
