SACRAMENTO-
The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department announced Wednesday that the man wanted for a deadly March 16 shooting outside a Home Depot has been identified.
Jeffery Caylor, 44, was already in custody in Butte County on unrelated charges when the warrant for his arrest in the shooting was issued.
Caylor will soon be sent back to Sacramento County.
Investigators say they believe the shooting of Hassan Alawsi was racially motivated.
Witnesses at the scene reported that Alawsi was loading the trunk of his car with purchases when he was shot, seemingly at random.
