FOLSOM-

Since early February Folsom Lake has risen 43 feet.

The past month’s rain really helped raise the water levels, but it was Sunday night’s rain that might have pushed Folsom Lake over the coveted 400 feet mark, meaning the 5 miles-per-hour maximum speed limit for boats could be lifted.

Right now, the speed limit has been in place because of rocks and sandbars close to the water’s surface.

California State Parks says if the lake gete a little more water in run-off from the most recent rain storm, they will lift the speed limit ban and starting at 6 a.m. Tuesday.

Boaters will be able to zip across the lake getting from one side to the next in minutes instead of an hour.
