ABC is adding to its new series pickups, greenlighting Ryan Phillippe drama Secrets and Lies to series.
The drama, based on an upcoming Australian series starring Martin Henderson, centers on a father (Phillippe) who becomes the prime suspect in the murder of a young boy when he finds the body. Juliette Lewis co-stars in the drama from ABC Studios and Aaron Kaplan’s Kapital Entertainment.

ABC originally picked up the series with a hefty 10-episode series commitment. Private Practice’s Barbie Kligman will oversee the drama alongside Kaplan and Tracey Robertson and Nathan Mayfield.
The pickup joins new rookie dramas Astronaut Wives Club, The Club, Agent Carter, How to Get Away With Murder, Forever and American Crime at the network for 2014-15.
