SACRAMENTO –
Several scenes from the hit hidden camera prank movie, “Bad Grandpa,” starring Johnny Knoxville, were shot in Sacramento last February.
Among the locations used, the Bonfare Market at 20th and H Streets was the scene of vehicle airbag stunt. And the Discovery Park Bridge was prominently featured in a gag involving what looked like a body being dropped into the water.
According to Sacramento Film Commissioner, Lucy Steffens, the scenes were all shot using hidden cameras with Sacramento Police nearby in case things got out of hand. The production was kept secret at the time.
The cast and crew stayed at the Hilton Sacramento Arden West, occupying hundreds of rooms.
