TRAVIS AIR FORCE BASE-

With an air show coming to Travis Air Force Base in May, emergency responders made sure they are prepared in case of a “worst case” scenario.

“We take this very seriously, we want to make sure we have practiced if a plane goes down,” Captain Ted Fisher said.

Thursday’s drill involved a metal mock plane structure that can be lit on fire with the push of a button.

Crews with the base’s fire department didn’t know exactly what time it would be ablaze, responding when they heard the siren.

A second scenario dealt with bodies that were flung from the plane in a hypothetical emergency, allowing rescue crews to practice life saving drills if the real deal were to occur.
