MODESTO—

Downed power lines complicated firefighting efforts at a mobile home that went up in smoke Tuesday morning, fire officials say.

According to a release from the Modesto Regional Fire Authority, units from Modesto and Ceres Fire showed up near Imperial Avenue and Dallas Street around 7:35 p.m. after getting a report about a fire and a mobile home and an adjacent structure.

Firefighters soon found that power lines had been burned and had fallen onto the structure, forcing them to work cautiously.

In the end, a total of 23 firefighters were able to get the inferno under control within 30 minutes, but not before the flames destroyed the mobile home.

Authorities note that a family of three has been displaced by the fire, but is being helped by the Red Cross.

Investigators are looking into what caused the fire.
