Channing Tatum is set to receive the MTV Movie Awards’ Trailblazer Award.
The actor-producer will be presented with the honor by Jupiter Ascending co-star Mila Kunis. He is the third recipient of the award, joining previous honorees Emma Watson and Emma Stone.
“Channing Tatum is the quintessential leading man for the MTV audience,” said Stephen Friedman, president of MTV. “He proves that an action hero can have both a quick wit and a large heart. Whether he’s baring his soul in The Vow, his chest in Magic Mike, or his humor in 21 Jump Street, Channing proves that by committing everything, you can accomplish anything.”
The MTV Movie Awards will be hosted by Conan O’Brien and broadcast from the Nokia Theatre at L.A. Live on Sunday, April 13, at 9 p.m. ET/PT on MTV. British singer Ellie Goulding, DJ Zedd and Twenty One Pilots will perform, while Mark Wahlberg will receive the Generation Award.
Paramount’s The Wolf of Wall Street and Columbia’s American Hustle lead the pack with eight nominations apiece, followed by The Hunger Games: Catching Fire with seven and We’re the Millers with six.
Jesse Ignjatovic, Lee Lodge and Jen Jones serve as executive producers with MTV’s Garrett English. Wendy Plaut is co-executive producer and executive in charge of celebrity talent, with Amy Doyle as executive in charge of music and celebrity talent. Joanna Bomberg is executive in charge of music talent.
