A new trailer for Legendary’s Godzilla reboot has been released, showing the damage caused by the giant monster as it rampages through San Francisco (as well as a lot of people running to try and escape).
Titled “Courage,” the new one-minute spot takes its name from the dialogue heard in the trailer as a team of soldiers are told, “None of us have ever faced a situation quite like this one … I know many of you have family and loved ones still in the city. Their courage will never be more needed than it is today.”
STORY: CinemaCon: Warner Bros. Teases ‘Jersey Boys,’ Final ‘Hobbit’; ‘Godzilla’ Wows
As with all early trailers, only a glimpse of the monster itself is shown, this time hidden by smoke as the camera looks up from a street in San Francisco’s Chinatown. It appears that Las Vegas also makes a cameo in the clip as a mock Statue of Liberty appears to be damaged.
Clearly we’ll have to wait until the movie’s May 16 release to see the full creature in motion, as opposed to toys and magazine covers.
