Gurkha Beast Review
This review is going to be extremely short and simple, mostly because to be honest, I dreaded this cigar. Now I love the Gurkha brand as a whole and many of their cigars are worth every penny, and maybe I just ended up with a bad stick but the Beast was more of the Flop for me.
Construction:
This is the portion where the Beast lost me completely. In the beginning the burn started out a little inconsistent but I paid it no mind and touched it up then continued to smoke. As I got to the halfway point, I found that the entire cigar began to canoe terribly and I almost had a fit trying to touch it back up and keep the entire thing from falling apart. When I found a good inch or so continuing to canoe, I simply killed the stick and tossed it out of frustration. Now, I’m not holding this against Gurkha and I’m definitely saying I wouldn’t try another Beast, but this one just ruined my hopes for this particular line from Gurkha but I will soon try another and hopefully bring the Beast back to glory.
Flavor:
This is the one thing that I really enjoyed about the beast, the flavor. I may be able to attribute the Beast to not being a full bodied cigar because of the construction of mine, but I found it to be a mild to medium flavored cigar with light pepper, hay, and cedar flavors mixed together. After each puff, I found a very sweet finish as I released the smoke into the air, giving me a relief from the earthy flavors for mere seconds before enriching myself once again. Overall, I think the flavors of this cigar saved it from me simply not even making a review of it.
Rating:
Initial: 70
Final: 65 (due to canoeing)
