SACRAMENTO-

Sacramento medical marijuana dispensaries that want to keep doing business had a March 31 deadline to submit a permit to the city, or be shut down.

This is the second time the city has gone through the permit process, the first time was in 2010.

Sacramento will now review the permits submitted to the Department of Revenue, all conditional use permits must be approved by the end of the year.

Sacramento has laid low over the past couple of years on issuing permits until it felt comfortable enough that federal raids would no longer happen in the city.

There are currently more than 20 medical marijuana dispensaries within city limits. City officials have not said if all shops have submitted the correct paperwork.
