The CW has found its new Supernatural duo.
Lucien Laviscount (Episodes) and Nathaniel Buzolic (The Vampire Diaries) will star in the back-door pilot Supernatural: Tribes, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
The spinoff — set to air as a planted episode on April 29 — is described as a sweeping drama about the various mafia-esque monster families that unknowingly to humans “run” the underbelly of Chicago and who are being tracked by a newly minted Hunter who is trying to stop them and rid Chicago of anything or anyone supernatural.

Laviscount (Skins, Millions, One Night in Istanbul) will star as Ennis Roth, whose fiancee is killed in the crossfire of the monster war. The determined police academy trainee then learns the truth about what lurks in the shadows and becomes a monster hunter.
Buzolic (The Originals) will co-star as David Hayden, a shape-shifter from one of Chicago’s ruling monster families who has been living as a human after having given up the monster life years ago.
Supernatural‘s Andrew Dabb will pen the script and executive produce alongside Eric Kripke, Robert Singer, showrunner Jeremy Carver and McG. Singer will direct the Warner Bros. Television entry.

This marks Laviscount’s second stab at a CW pilot. Last year, he replaced William Moseley in the retooled pilot of The Selection. That pilot marked his U.S. TV debut. He’s repped by Waring and McKenna in the U.K. and Industry Entertainment.
For Buzolic, the casting continues his relationship with the network after a recurring role on The Vampire Diaries and its spinoff, The Originals. He’s repped by UTA and Untitled Entertainment.
