WATERFORD—
Waterford Middle School was temporarily put on lockdown Thursday afternoon due to police activity nearby.
The school, located near Bentley and B Streets, was put on lockdown around 2:30 p.m. after detectives realized that the school would be letting out.
Stanislaus County deputies and Paso Robles Police believed they had homicide suspect pinned down in a home along Loy Street, less than a half-mile from the middle school.
Around 3:30 p.m. the lockdown was lifted. Authorities now say that the suspect was not in the home.
Paso Robles Police tell FOX40 that they have detectives are out in the Stanislaus County area to follow up on some leads on three murder suspects. The murder happened back in February and detectives believe that the suspects coud be hiding out in Stanislaus or San Joaquin County areas.
Authorities converged on the home in Waterford after seeing someone take off running from a home. Detectives weren’t sure as to who he was, so they took action. Backup was called and the man was eventually located.
