As Breaking Bad prepares to unveil its series finale, The Hollywood Reporter is opening up the vault on five years worth of interviews with the Bad cast and creator Vince Gilligan.
The video (above) is full of insights into the creation of the series, such as in 2010 when Cranston waxed philosophical about the evolution of Walter White: “By the end of the series, he’ll be a completely different person.” Gilligan said the same year that “the ability to put anything as dark and crazy as I can think of on TV is a wonderful blessing.”

But there are plenty of outrageous moments, as well. On the scene of THR‘s 2012 Breaking Bad cover shoot, Gilligan asked if he’s allowed to say “shit” on camera, to which Cranston remarked: “I can tell you this: By the end of this season, you will shit.”
Cranston drew laughs from Jon Hamm and others at THR‘s 2010 drama actors roundtable, where he shared secrets to directing himself on Breaking Bad.
“I always start with a compliment about me. That always seems to work,” Cranston said. “I sleep with myself as well, which is always disappointing.”

During his Emmy Icons photo shoot earlier this month, Aaron Paul said Breaking Bad would surely be the high point of his career, while Anna Gunn addressed the hate for her character, Skyler, at this year’s drama actress roundtable.
“This sort of gender war sort of broke out over the character of Skyler, in terms of men saying, ‘She’s a nag. She’s a bitch. She’s nagging Walt just because he’s cooking crystal meth,'” Gunn said.
