Channel 5, which has also aired such U.S. shows as Dallas and Fear Factor, will begin airing season one of the NCIS spinoff on Feb. 28 in the 10 p.m. time slot.
Starring Chris O’Donnell and LL Cool J, the drama focuses on a division of NCIS that is charged with apprehending dangerous and elusive criminals that pose a threat to the nation’s security. Its team of highly trained agents goes undercover and utilizes cutting-edge technology.
Said Katie Keenan, head of acquisitions for Channel 5: “NCIS has been one of our most successful dramas over the last nine years. Our viewers will be hooked to NCIS: Los Angeles, complete with great chemistry between LL Cool J and Chris O’Donnell. It’s a slick addition to the franchise.”
Said Stephen Tague, senior vp, Europe, CBS Studios International: “There’s a reason why NCIS and the fast-paced world of NCIS: Los Angeles are the top two dramas on U.S. television, not to mention one of the most popular franchises in the world. Both programs consistently deliver CBS’s strong story-telling and high-quality production values, ensuring they’ll be a hit with viewers on Channel 5.”
