FAIRFIELD —

It’s been almost one week since 16-year-old Naomy Rojas was found dead in Fairfield. Her family says she was just out with friends when someone shot her in the back of the head execution style and left her next to the railroad tracks.

“We still can’t believe it. None of us can,” Juan Rojas, Naomy’s brother, said.

Today her family and friends washed dozens of cars in hopes of washing away some of the pain her death has caused them.

“We don’t know anything about this case. We don’t know anything and we just want answers. Why her? She was an innocent girl. She didn’t deserve any of this,” Naomy’s sister Nayeli said.

So far the family says none of the nine people she was hanging out with have come forward to police with what happened.

This car wash on North Texas Street in Fairfield is very visible. The family hopes they will not only raise lots of money for Naomy’s funeral, but remind people they still want answers.

“It is frustrating because there are nine people there. There are nine witnesses that were there. You guys aren’t saying anything. Why? What are you afraid of? You can remain anonymous,” said Juan

So far they have collected more than $10,000. The funeral costs a few thousand more than that. The family says if there is anything left over they want to offer a reward for information, because the not knowing is killing them.

“We don’t know who did it so everybody is suspicious to us. I don’t know who did it. They could come up to us and shake our hands. I don’t know,” said Nayeli said.

The family says the car wash fundraiser will help ease the financial burden that came with the death, but it won’t help their emotional burden that can only be eased when somebody comes forward and tells police what happened.
