HONG KONG – Firestorm blasted its way through the Christmas box office here, with a gross of $899,700 (HK$7 million) from Dec. 24-26.
The Andy Lau-starring cop drama opened on Dec. 19 and has accumulated $2.2 million at the box office.

Coming in second and third on the Christmas top ten are Disney’s animation Frozen and Warner Bros’ The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, which grossed $604,000 and $566,000, respectively, during the three-day period.
New release The Secret Life of Walter Mitty came in fourth. The film opened on Christmas Day, and took $501,000 from Dec. 25-26. Also taking the bow on Christmas Day were animated feature Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs 2 and Keanu Reeves-starrer 47 Ronin, which took in $180,000 and $167,000, respectively.
Total box office receipts during the three-day period was $4.2 million, a 10.98 percent increase over last year.
