Jason O’Mara is headed to USA Network.
The Vegas and Terra Nova alum has been tapped to star in the cable network’s Matt Nix drama pilot Complications, The Hollywood Reporter has learned exclusively.
Nix’s Complications tells the story of disillusioned suburban ER Dr. John Ellis (O’Mara), whose life changes after he’s involved in a gang shooting and is forced to explore how active a doctor can be in treating the cause of his patients’ medical problems.

Ellis intervenes in a drive-by shooting, saving a young boy’s life and killing one of his attackers. When he learns the boy is still marked for death, he finds himself compelled to save him at any cost and discovers that his life and his outlook on medicine may never be the same.
The drama, from Fox Television Studios, will be written and exec produced by Nix, who recently wrapped seven seasons of USA’s Burn Notice.
For O’Mara, the drama comes as he’s recurring on CBS’ The Good Wife. Last year, he starred in CBS’ period drama Vegas and in 2011, toplined Fox’s pricey sci-fi drama Terra Nova. His credits also include Band of Brothers, The Agency, Life on Mars and features including Resident Evil: Extinction. He next will be heard as the voice of Batman in the animated film Justice League: War. O’Mara is repped by UTA, Independent Talent and Jackoway Tyerman.
