Disney's Frozen will tour the U.S. this fall as "an ice skating spectacular," the Walt Disney Company today confirmed (via The New York Times). And don't worry if your town doesn't have an ice rink, because Elsa can just make one! Yes, unlike many of the other Disney on Ice productions, which basically boil down to pretty princesses pirouetting in their skates, this makes a lot of sense. The show will feature "a blizzard created by 20 snow machines, a stage inspired by a six-sided snowflake and towering video projection panels that, among other things, would simulate the movie's jagged North Mountains." Among a cast of 39 ice dancers, all your favorite Frozen characters will feature. Here's what Elsa and Anna look like in their costumes, for example:
They probably deserve better quality wigs though; they are royalty. As well as cameo appearances from Disney stalwarts Mickey and Minnie Mouse, the show will apparently also feature more Disney film favorites — more princesses, most of whom I'm not sure Elsa will click with, and characters from films including Toy Story, The Lion King, and even Finding Nemo. This seems a little cruel though, because Simba's just going to fall over on the ice and, to be brutally honest, Elsa would have probably killed lil' Nemo and all his fish friends when she had her tantrum and froze the seas surrounding Arendelle. Sad but true.
Tickets for Disney on Ice: Frozen (which should really just be called Frozen on Ice) will go on sale in July. The tour will begin in Orlando, Florida, because Olaf's contract mandates two beach days a week.
