Sierra Starr strikes gold in wine competition

The results are in from the 2014 Finger Lakes Wine Competition.

In its 14th year, 75 judges, all with national and international credentials, from multiple markets in Argentina, Australia, Chile, France, Germany, Israel, Italy, the United States and other wine regions of the world judged 3756 wines.

In what was deemed “perhaps their tightest competition ever,” gold medals were awarded to just 7 percent of the wines entered, and Sierra Starr Vineyard received three of them.

The results are as follows:

GOLD 2010 Phil’s Selection Zinfandel
GOLD 2009 Aurora botrytized Dessert Wine
GOLD 2011 Rising Starr Cabernet Franc

SILVER Jacks Blend 6
SILVER 2010 Old Clone Zinfandel
SILVER 2012 Reserve Cosmic Chardonnay
