PaleyFest is making a big move.
The annual television festival will move from its Saban Theater home in Beverly Hills to the Dolby Theatre at Hollywood & Highland, the venue where the Academy Awards are held, for 2014. (The Saban seats approximately 1,900, while the Dolby seats about 3,400.) Next year’s PaleyFest, the 31st edition, will take place March 13-28.
In the announcement Tuesday, the first three honorees also were unveiled: Veronica Mars; FX’s American Horror Story: Coven; and ABC Family’s Pretty Little Liars. Veronica Mars will serve as the opener with a cast reunion one day before the film officially premieres, while Coven will close out the festival.

The full lineup will be released Jan. 8.
“Moving PaleyFest to the landmark Dolby Theatre is an extraordinary testament to the festival’s growth over the years,” said Pat Mitchell, president/CEO of the Paley Center for Media. “Hosting PaleyFest at the prestigious home of the Academy Awards is also an acknowledgement of the caliber of programs we showcase and of the wonderful support we’ve received from our network and studio partners, sponsors and the amazing creative talents PaleyFest celebrates year after year.”
PaleyFest will continue with the Icon Award, which it kicked off last year with Ryan Murphy as the recipient. The second Icon recipient and event will be announced in the next few weeks.
