Hey everyone,

I've come to break you off a piece of this KitKat bar for the T-Mobile Moto X! I did not partake in any development of this ROM, other than providing it to you all to enjoy.

Note: Be sure to have an unlocked bootloader in order to flash.

Instructions:

1. Put your phone in fastboot mode (press and hold power + volume down when phone is off)
2. Connect phone to PC
3. Extract zip on PC and run flashall.bat

The script will also update the bootloader and recovery and you may lose root if you have it.

This should have updates to Touchless Control, Active Display, Camera and has a home screen selector. It does seem to have most of the standard KitKat features, including SMS with Hangout, updated keyboard, etc.

Now supports Tap & Pay with Google Wallet!

It does not come with the Google Experience launcher with Google Now on the left side, however, but you can search for the apk. This update also brings the white icons from the Nexus 5.

This is a test build and as always, please flash with caution. Not responsible for bricked phones, etc. etc. etc.

Yep, this is 4.3. Aside from the standard 4.3 features, it looks like there are some extra tweaks/settings to the Moto camera. Not sure if these are part of the engineering build or if these will make the final version.

I might be able to. What are you looking for?

For unlocked users to be able to flash this, we'll need the boot.img for starters. Maybe the modem too, but may not be needed to be able to boot it up for testing.

If you have root:
adb shell
Code:
su
dd if=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/boot of=/sdcard/boot.img

adb pull /sdcard/boot.img "Folder on PC where you want to put it"
(without the "")

Or copy it from the sdcard manually. Either way it just needs to be taken from the phone. Thanks for the dump, and thanks even more if you can do this for us ;)

Not totally sure this will even work, but is it possible to upload the APKs for the Camera and Gallery from 4.3 so those of us on 4.2.2 could see some benefits? Those of us who're rooted could side load them.

The camera needs tweaking at a level beyond APKs (Else third party camera apps would've fixed the quality right? ) so simply installing the gallery wouldnt work.

I installed the camera and gallery apk and it is working on the Verizon Moto X. I can definitely see a difference in low light conditions.

    Fastbootable 4.3 Files

    Morning everyone,

I did not get this file from a internal source it is from a dump of a test phone, the links are found above. This is simply a mirror that puts all the files in 1 zip and includes a fastboot file so you can flash it.
You MUST have an unlocked bootloader to use these files

    Download this file: www.teamblackhat.net/Downloads/motox/T-Mobile-4.3.zip

    Windows Directions:

    1) Unpack files
    2) Connect phone to computer (ensure you have adb enabled)
    3) open terminal and navigate to location of files
    4) type adb reboot recovery
    5) fastboot flash boot boot.img
    6) fastboot flash system system.img

Recommended and necessary if you hang without booting fully
    7) fastboot erase userdata (wipes /data and /sdcard)

** Though included do not flash new Modem or fsg file, doing so will break your radio and wifi ***

    Mac and Linux directions:

Same as above but I have not included the necessary fastboot file. You are on your own to find this.

    **** My Findings ***

This is definately a test build and as such it seems to be slower than 4.2.2, thought he camera does seem to be improved. YMMV and use caution when flashing.

    Rooting this build

    1) adb push su /data/local/tmp
    2) adb shell
    3) su
    4) mount -o rw,remount /system
    5) cp /data/local/tmp/su /system/xbin/su
    6) chmod 4755 /system/xbin/su
    3

No appology needed you didnt do anything wrong. This is what comes with early builds right? BUG ridden messes. LOL. Thanks for the help either way.

    Rooting this is problematic,

The easiest way is not to let CWM do it for you but to do it manually using adb commands and the recovery. I posted a how to here.
