Governors Ball announced its lineup Wednesday not with a tweet or a press release, but with a full-page ad in The New York Times. As expected, reunited rap duo Outkast will headline the annual festival on Randall’s Island in NYC, being held June 6 to 8. Joining them atop the bill are rock standard-bearers Jack White and Vampire Weekend.

Organizers added NYC rock veterans The Strokes to the lineup Wednesday morning as apparent co-headliners — an update to the Times ad, which only featured frontman Julian Casablancas. The singer keeps his solo set as well.
Other major acts include Phoenix, Foster the People, Skrillex, Spoon, Blur’s Damon Albarn, Neko Case, Disclosure, James Blake, Grimes, Janelle Monae and NYC locals Interpol, TV on the Radio and Sleigh Bells. There’ll also be a set from former Swedish House Mafia members Axwell and Sebastian Ingrosso.
Direct your attention to the finer print and you’ll spot an impressive slate of acts including Haerts, Bastille, Jason Isbell, Chance the Rapper, Kurt Vile, and The Internet, as well as Odd Future guys Tyler, the Creator, and Earl Sweatshirt.
Last year’s soppy festival featured performances from Kings of Leon, Guns N’ Roses, Kanye West, The xx, Kendrick Lamar and Nas, among others.
