FAIRFIELD-

Fairfield Police say one man was killed Sunday in a crash witnesses believe happened during a race along Lopes Road near Canyon Hills Drive.

According to traffic investigators, a black Toyota Tundra pickup and a blue Infiniti coupe were both heading south on Lopes Road, toward Canyon Hills Drive. A black Mazda sedan was turning left onto Lopes from Canyon Hills when it was struck by the Infiniti, police said.

Officers say the pickup drove around the Mazda and kept going. Investigators are now looking for that truck and driver.

Investigators say the driver of the Mazda was pronounced dead at the scene, and the driver of the Infiniti was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Anyone with information about the crash or where the late-model, black Toyota Tundra might be is urged to contact the Fairfield Police Department at (707) 428-7300.
