SACRAMENTO –

A series of weather systems over the next few weeks will likely bring several feet of new snow  to the Sierra.  And just in time for the powder, some sporting goods stores are offering deep discounts on ski and snowboard gear.

As for the selection of gear, FOX40 checked with many of the large chain sporting goods stores in the Sacramento area and found that some have already phased out their winter equipment in favor of spring sporting goods.  Specialty shops, like Land Park Ski and Sports and Clark’s Snow Sports, still have a good selection of winter equipment.

“Because a lot of merchandise has not sold, the selection at this time is still pretty good, meaning different models of skis or sizes of boots,” said Bill Proffit, owner of Land Park Ski and Sports.  “You can still get what you need.”
