Duck Dynasty star Phil Robertson is in hot water after making anti-gay remarks in a recent profile in GQ.
A&E has placed the Robertson family patriarch on indefinite hiatus, sparking a flurry of support from conservative commentators on Twitter, and snarky comments from other corners. Among his champions is former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, who tweeted, “Free speech is an endangered species.”

“Those ‘intolerants’ hatin’ and taking on the Duck Dynasty patriarch for voicing his personal opinion are taking on all of us,” she wrote in a post that included a picture of herself with the Robertson family.
George Lopez tweeted “What ? No ….,” while former Firefly alum (and conservative figure) Adam Baldwin has refrained from sharing his opinion, but has retweeted his fans’ takes.
Robertson was quoted in a recent GQ profile equating homosexuality with bestiality.
“It seems like, to me, a vagina — as a man — would be more desirable than a man’s anus,” Robertson says in the January issue of the magazine. “That’s just me. I’m just thinking: There’s more there! She’s got more to offer. I mean, come on, dudes! You know what I’m saying? But hey, sin: It’s not logical, my man. It’s just not logical.”
During the interview, Robertson was asked what he finds sinful.

“Start with homosexual behavior and just morph out from there,” he said. “Bestiality, sleeping around with this woman and that woman and that woman and those men.”

If Ronald Reagan hadn’t defunded the US Public School system we might never have gotten to enjoy Duck Dynasty.
