A stuntwoman on the Syfy reality series Face Off is suing the production alleging that she was severely burned while filming the show.
A personal injury lawsuit filed at the Los Angeles Superior Court claims that on or around June 21, 2012, Tamiko Brownlee suffered burns “over multiple parts of her body” as a “result of negligence or and/or wrongdoing of defendants … in the creation, maintenance, coordinating, handling, set-up” of the pyrotechnics, causing her to be “consumed by a fireball.”

Entering its seventh season in July, Face Off is a reality show airing on Syfy, a NBCUniversal-operated cable network, that features special effects makeup artists competing to create characters and creatures that are living works of art.

The complaint claims that the Defendants’ actions and/or omissions “created an extremely dangerous condition” and that they had a duty to safeguard Brownlee, which they failed to do.
The accident occurred while filming in a warehouse in Los Angeles and involved a propane “popper” and a “woofer,” according to the suit, which requests a trial by jury.

According to her IMDB biography, Brownlee has worked as a stunt performer on multiple TV shows and movies, including CSI, Justified, Castle, and Transformers: Age of Extinction.
Brownlee is represented by attorney Vincent Vallin Bennett.
