TORONTO – Lionsgate has pacted with Sid Ganis‘ Jiaflix Enterprises to extend its digital pipeline into China.
The multi-year licensing agreement for Lionsgate and Summit films will make select movies available for transactional and subscription video on demand on the Chinese streaming website M1905.com, the online division of China Movie Channel and CCTV6.
Lionsgate/Summit titles that will be available to Jiaflix subscribers include The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, The Tree of Life, The Princess Bride and Dirty Dancing.

The Asian deal for Lionsgate was unveiled by the mini-major’s president of worldwide television and digital distribution, Jim Packer, Jiaflix’s Ganis, the former president of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences, Marc Ganis and Kenneth Huang.
M1905 is a subsidiary of the China Movie Channel within China’s State Administration of Radio, Film and Television.
China Movie Channel is also China’s largest TV buyer of foreign movies and has supply deals with most major studios.
