SACRAMENTO—

A new burlesque reality show called “Frack Girls,” held auditions in Sacramento Sunday.

Twenty hopeful performers auditioned for the coveted 8 to 12 openings.

The twist to the series? It combines vaudeville showgirls with a roughneck audience.

“We are trying to a retro 40’s style vibe to the whole show,” said Frack Girls Producer Will Wright.

Getting a new show of the ground is a huge undertaking, but this show has some major support.

“We are working with Doug Stanley from the Deadliest Catch. We met with him and he loved the idea. He is going to be involved in every step of the way, and we are actually going to put these girls on RV’s and take them there,” Wright said.

Viewers can expect a behind-the-scenes look at burlesque shows.

“You’re gonna see behind the showgirl. It doesn’t always look like this, so I’m prepared to face the world without the makeup, and possibly the hair and all the glitter. But you’re going to see the frustrations and the good times,” said Ms. Fever Blister, Burlesque House Mom.

According to the show’s producers, “Frack Girls” is trying to break the mold on reality shows and shift audiences’ perceptions of beauty.

“We love women in all their shapes and sizes, and you don’t have to be a size 2 to be a star,” Wright said.
