SACRAMENTO–
Bring your patience, and your wallet.
That’s what you’ll need Friday if you are heading out to buy a Valentine’s Day gift for that someone special.
“It’s been a mad house,” explained Nyk Woodward, owner of Arden Park Florist and Gift Gallery.
The shop, which opened way back in 1975, will deliver about 1,600 Valentine’s Day packages on Friday.
“We’ve got about 50 drivers who will head out at seven in the morning. They’ve got a lot of ground to cover.”
If you haven’t purchased a gift for that someone special, then expect extremely long lines on Friday. The average cost of that gift may be a surprise, too.
“People are spending between $100 and $150 this year,” said Woodward.
But believe it or not, this isn’t their busiest day of the year.
“Actually, Mother’s Day is our biggest (day),” Woodward said. “Everyone has a mother. Not everyone has a valentine.”
