Madrid – Sony Computer Entertainment Spain and Mediaset Spain will launch a game based on a popular Spanish animated archaeologist character mindful of Indiana Jones.
The game starring the character, Tadeo Jones, will be available exclusively for the PlayStation Vita handheld gaming system in time for the holidays.
The game follows the 2012 release of animated hit The Adventures of Tadeo Jones (known as Tad, the Lost Explorer in English), which became the highest-grossing animation release in the history of Spain.
The Paramount release brought in more than $24.4 million (€18 million). The film was produced by Mediaset subsidiary Telecinco Cinema.
The PlayStation Vita game will be entitled Thaddeus Jones and will be available on Dec. 4. It will immerse players in a world full of obstacles and challenges.
The game is being developed by Spanish company U-PLAY Studios in collaboration with Mediaset Spain and will be distributed by Koch Media.
