A glass floor that opens to reveal a downstairs area? A elevator/garage that raises your ride from ground level all the way to its own parking garage adjoining your unit? Call it extreme design.
Dubbed The One Penthouse, located in the 200 Eleventh Avenue building in Chelsea, the 3,598-square-foot apartment has no shortage of extreme details, including 80 feet of frontage over the Hudson River and protected panoramic views from its 12th and 13th floors.

“This is by far the coolest apartment in the city,” says Million Dollar Listing New York’s Ryan Serhant of Nest Seekers International, who has the listing of the newly designed unit, one of only 14 in the building. “There are penthouses in every building just because they happen to be on the top floor. This is a truly penthouse with the best views you can get in Manhattan.”
The three-bedroom, three-bath unit is two floors, and the upstairs is connected to the lower floor via a “Sky Vault,” a disappearing, glass-encased staircase that retracts into a glass vault, found in the living room’s floor. “When you’re in the living room, you can step onto the glass floor and look down into the lower level,” says Serhant. “When you hit a button, part of the glass floor opens to reveal the staircase that leads to the master bedroom and second bedroom.”

The top floor features the en suite, stainless-steel class car garage, kitchen, guest room and two large-scale terraces with city and water views to the north, east and south.
“This is the only apartment in the world with a sky vault,” says Serhant. “It’s a true trophy home, and I wonder if we’ve underpriced it.”
