The Best Evernote Apps for Organizing Even More of Your Life

Evernote is one of our favorite multipurpose note-taking tools, so it's not surprising that so many apps out there work with it. These apps do everything from using Evernote for storage to making use of your Evernote notebooks to do clever new things. Here are a few of our favorites.

SwiftKey Note

iOS: We're fans of SwiftKey Note not because it's the best note-taking app for iOS in a feature comparison, but because it brings a major part of SwiftKey's well-loved predictive autocorrect technology to iOS. It also syncs seamlessly with Evernote, so if you use Evernote for note storage and want a little easier time typing those notes on your iPhone or iPad, SwiftKey Note might be just the thing for you.

Eidetic

iOS: Eidetic is a flashcard-style learning app that helps you memorize facts using spaced repetition, a process which automatically adjusts how often a card is shown to you based on your performance over time. What's really clever about Eidetic is that instead of just wading through flashcards, you enter bits of information you'd like to remember and it periodically sends you notifications reminding you to test yourself on that information. And of course, Eidetic connects to Evernote so that you can automatically save new items to the notebooks of your choice. Eidetic is free to test with a single fact, but you'll need the $1.99 Pro version to learn more things.

Hop.in

iPad: Hop.in works much like the Evernote Web Clipper, but for your iPad. It's a browser that lets you easily select images or text on a page with a quick double-tap and some easy gestures and then save that content to the Evernote notebook of your choice. You also have full access to your Evernote tags so you can keep things organized. You can browse through your clippings with the Hop.in app's timeline feature or head over to Evernote where everything is fully searchable.

EasilyDo Smart Assistant

Android, iPhone: EasilyDo Smart Assistant is all about organizing your life. It offers a range of features, including organizing contacts, checking traffic, sending you weather notifications, and tracking packages. It can connect to loads of different apps and services, including most email services and social networks. And you get to be in control of which apps it can connect to and what data it can access. It does feature a lot of crossover with services like Google Now, but if you haven't been satisfied with those and you want better Evernote connectivity, EasilyDo is worth checking out.

CamScanner Free

Android, iPhone: CamScanner does just what the name implies, letting you use the camera on your phone or tablet to scan documents, receipts, notes, or whatever else you can aim your camera at. After you take a picture, CamScanner walks you through cropping and enhancing the picture so that you get the best quality you can get and then runs optical character recognition on the document to make the text searchable and editable. You can do a lot within the app itself, like sharing, printing, and even collaborating on documents, but CamScanner also syncs beautifully with Evernote. The premium version ($4.99/month or $49.99/year) lets you share documents with more people and remove ads and watermarks.
