NBC’s Rosemary’s Baby miniseries has birthed a premiere date — and it’s during May sweeps.
The four-hour series toplined by Zoe Saldana, Patrick J. Adams and Jason Isaacs will premiere Sunday, May 11, at 9 p.m., which also happens to be Mother’s Day. It will culminate in a two-hour finale just days later on Thursday, May 15, at 9 p.m.
NBC will be facing finales for ABC’s Once Upon a Time and Revenge, and the debut of Showtime’s horror drama Penny Dreadful on May 11, as well as season closers for ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy, The CW’s Reign, Fox’s Surviving Jack and CBS’ Elementary four days later.
Rosemary’s Baby is the modern-day adaptation of the 1967 best-selling suspense novel by Ira Levin. The story centers on a young married couple (Saldana and Adams) who move into a Paris apartment that has a haunted past. After getting pregnant, the wife becomes increasingly suspicious that both her husband and their neighbors will have ulterior motives when her child is born.
Rosemary’s Baby hails from Lionsgate Television and also stars Carole Bouquet. It marks NBC’s latest move to continue producing original content year-round as networks seek cache and more eyeballs in an increasingly competitive DVR era.
Current Sunday dramas Crisis and Believe will resume airing in their regular 8 p.m. and 9 p.m. slots on May 18.
