ORLAND— The Glenn County Sheriff-Coroner’s Office conducted the investigations into the deaths of 9 of the people who died in the Orland bus crash in April, and they have released their autopsy report.

Ten people died in the Orland bus crash on April 10th, 2014 when a Fed Ex semi-truck collided with a bus taking high school students from southern California to visit the campus of Humboldt State.

According to the release, the forensic specialists assigned to analyzing the victims of the crash positively identified the 9 people who died at the scene of the crash at the end of April, and on July 9th the Glenn County coroner reported the cause of death for each victim.

The coroners got a hold of each of the victims’ families in order to share their findings. The findings have now been shared with the public.

According to the autopsy, 7 of the victims died from being unable to breathe. They inhaled the ash and smoke from the crash, and died by asphyxiation. Two victims died from physical trauma caused by the crash. The 10th person who died in the crash was not listed in this report, as the victim died in a hospital following the crash.
