CITRUS HEIGHTS-

Two homes were damaged by flames Monday night along Escallonia Drive in Citrus Heights.

Firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the fire, which is believed to have started between the two houses.

There were people, including children, in both but all were able to escape. Firefighters say one civilian was injured trying to put out the flames..

Crews say the bulk of the damage was contained to the exteriors of the homes. Investigators are now working to determine how the fire started.
