Startup Goldbely: delivering the best regional food to your door

Hungry for Lou Malnati’s deep dish pizza from Chicago? World-famous beignets and coffee from Cafe du Monde in New Orleans? Original wings from the Anchor Bar in Buffalo? Award-winning Key Lime Pie from Mike’s in Tampa? Or legendary wild salmon from Ed Kasilof’s Seafood in Alaska?

A San Fancisco-based startup called Goldbely aims to bring you signature local food directly to your door. ““We are creating an opportunity for great local food purveyors to have a national audience. By using technology to empower small shops and artisans, we are democratizing the gourmet food industry,” says Goldbely’s chief executive Joe Ariel.

Goldbely, founded last December, just closed on a $3 million seed funding round led by Intel Capital.

We like the concept. We’ve often ordered signature and fancy food, such as pastrami from Katz’ Deli, directly to our door. Goldbely hand-selects America’s best dishes by their team of food explorers. It’s a “one-stop-shop” for food enthusiasts.
